What happens if the economic offer is in the technical envelope?

Bid Presentation

Oh, the world of public tenders ... It is not exactly a party, huh? If you have ever had to put together a proposal, you know there is no room for mistakes. And yes, that roll of technical and economic envelopes is not a whim: it is like separating the food from the dessert, everything in its place. Mix them, especially put the economic offer within the technical envelope, it is basically to sign your disqualification sentence. It is not a joke, they take you out of the play without blinking.

Let's see, for those who are not so involved in the subject: in these tenders, companies have to deliver two different envelopes. The technician is the one who tells everything about the company: experience, curriculum, champion titles ... whatever proves that they can with the project. Then there is the economic one, which is where you release the figure, the ticket, how much you charge for work.

Why so much mess with separation? Well, because the evaluators are not wanted to be hypnotized by the price before knowing if the company really knows what it does. The idea is that you first see if you can with the order, and then, yes, they look at how much it costs. No spoilers.

But if you put the leg and the economic offer where you should not, forget. Depending on where you are, they are thrown away from the fast process or you even fall for you. And the worst: delays, more paperwork, and all other contestants look at you with a face of "thank you for complicating everything."

Seriously, this is not to take it lightly. If you have doubts, ask, look for someone to know, do what is less improvised. Because such a mistake not only costs you the tender, the reputation can also cost you.

In summary: Check everything twice, follow the instructions to the letter and, if necessary, ask for help. That putting the economic offer in the technical envelope is the equivalent of throwing an autogol in the last minute. Nobody wants that.
