What to do if the electronic platform fails during the presentation?
Raise proposals to public tenders by electronic platforms ... Well, in theory it is the best thing that has happened to us (less roles, less rows, less drama). But of course, technology sometimes decides to betray us just when we need it most. Nothing like an error 404 five minutes from the closure to upload the pressure, right?
First: breathe deep. Do not panic by throwing the laptop out the window (believe me, do not help). First of all, it starts to save disaster tests: make screenshots, keep error messages, until you record a video if you can. All of that is your shield if you have to explain to someone who was not your fault.
Did the platform hung or simply disappear? Call or write to technical support immediately. The sooner the better. And nothing "gave me laziness to explain": release all the gossip, put the time, the type of error, what you tried to do ... the more details, the easier they help you. Most of these systems have their protocol for technical crises, so you are probably not the first to step on that puddle.
Do not forget to notify the entity that organizes the tender. Tell them what happened, send them the tests, ask for instructions. Sometimes they are good vibes and give you chance to deliver later or tell you what wave. Other times ... well, it depends on the humor of the official on duty, but asking no more.
If everything fails and fails to send the proposal on time, capable that you have to file a formal claim. Each country has its own legal roll for this (in the EU, for example, the Directive 2014/24/EU puts the rules). That is, it is not the end of the world, but you have to move quickly and follow the legal path.
Pro Tip: Prepare before, not after. Have copies of your documents saved everywhere (Cloud, USB, even in the backpack if you are Old School). Make sure your team knows how to use the platform and always keep the support contacts and the bidder entity. It is better to prevent crying in front of the blue screen of death.
In summary: if the platform falls, do not be frozen. Document everything, call the support, warn who organizes, and if it touches, claims. And next time, plan your play B (and C, just in case). The technology is wonderful ... until it is not.
