How to adapt a technical offer to European standards?

Bid Presentation

Look, adapt a technical offer to European standards ... It is not turkey mucus. There is much more than simply translating the document and crossing your fingers. You have to soak up the rules and the legal roll that the European Union is brought with its public tenders and contracts. And I warn you: the EU does not go with nonsense - they have super strict norms so that everything is fair, transparent, and nobody stays out because of rare favoritisms.

First, you have to catch well how EU directives on public procurement work. Without that, you are blind. The most famous: 2014/24/EU (public procurement, dry) and 2014/25/EU for water, energy, transport and mail sectors. You have to know almost by heart, or at least have them by hand not to put the leg.

Then, the technical offer itself has to be in one of the official Languages of the EU (yes, even if your English is from Google Translate ... better review before) and meet all the technical and quality requirements that the specifications ask for. Nothing to invent things or leave it halfway. And beware of the award criteria: Many times the price sends, but others look for the best value for money, so you do not trust and check the papers well.

Now, the green roll. The EU is obsessed with sustainability and the environment. If you can demonstrate that your offer helps recycle, save energy, or at least does not destroy the planet ... points for you. Put recycled materials or reduce emissions always add.

Do not forget the dreaded RGPD (yes, that which makes all websites ask you about cookies). If you are going to handle personal data, do not even think of the European privacy regulations. It is a mess, but if you do not meet it, or bother to introduce yourself.

Ah, and punctuality. If you promise a delivery date, cover it. Europeans do not walk with cheap delays or excuses. And the post -sales service: you have to show that, if something later happens, you will be there to solve it.

A Gold Council? Find professional help. There are consultants who live from this and can save your life (or at least the contract). Don't be tacaño, because those details can make a difference between winning or staying out.

So, in summary, if you want to have any option in European tenders: study the standards, meet everything - from technical to green and data - and do not hesitate to ask for help if you need it. With a good preparation, who knows, you will take the contract ... or at least you do not make a fool of yourself.
