What is the LCSP (Public Sector Contract Law)?

Well, the Public Sector Contract Law (LCSP), so that we understand each other, is the manual of instruction that Spanish public administrations have to continue when they want to hire something. And yes, it is touch, but if you are interested in putting your head in the world of tenders, it is time to match it. It came out in 2017, so it is not an ancient history either.

The objective of the LCSP is that public purchases and contracts are transparent, not a pig after another. That is, no lovers, no favoritisms, nor "I give it to you because you are my cousin." Here, by law, everything has to be clear, efficient and real competence. If not, fine singing.

The law tells you what papers you need, how you have to present things, and what steps you have to take to catch a public contract. One of the most cool things (or more damn, depends on how you look at it) is that the cheapest is no longer earned. Now, in addition to the price, you have to look at quality, innovation, if the project is accessible to everyone, design, ecological roll ... If your company can contribute something extra, here are your opportunity to show off and leave the competition biting the dust.

Are you SMEs and do you think this is only for the big ones? Well no. The law puts special rules so that SMEs have easier to catch contracts. For example, it allows to divide them into smaller pieces (lots), and does not require solvency or previous experience barbarities. Do not scare your monster.

And finally, but not least: LCSP is strong with the issue of corruption. More controls, more sanctions. If you are going to play, play clean, because the one who pays it. And the fines are not exactly Calderilla.

In summary, the LCSP is the Bible of whoever wants to work with the public in Spain. If you dominate her, you have many more ballots to win contracts and avoid dislikes. If you pass from it, attentive to the consequences. So clear.
