What contracts usually tender the municipalities?

Contract Execution

Well, look, municipalities are like the head of the block when it comes to hiring things. They have to handle a lot of services and works, so they have no choice but to look for external companies through these famous public tenders. And be careful, not everything is the same: there are normally three types of contracts with which they are handled - works, supplies and services.

We go in parts. Works contracts, then, are basically to lift, fix, or maintain infrastructure. You know, streets, public buildings, parks, that roll. Obviously, there are usually companies that know of construction and civil engineering, because you are not going to send to your cousin that of the hardware store to build a bridge.

Then there are supply contracts. What's that? Well, buy things, rent them, or make some leasing -like Apaño. Here everything fits: from banks to sit in the square, computers, cars, printer paper, to light, water or fuel so that everything works and does not fall apart.

And well, service contracts are like the tailor's drawer. Everything that is not works or supplies, ends here. Think of cleaning, transport, security, consulting, training, social services ... in short, what is needed according to the municipality.

Now, if you are a company and you want to get in the garlic, it is time to meet the requirements that the City Council marks in its specifications. They usually ask that you demonstrate that you are not in ruin, that you know what you do and, of course, that your offer is decent in terms of price and quality.

Ah, and all this is governed by the Public Sector Contract Law, which basically puts the rules of the game so that a circus is not mounted (or good, not so much).

My advice: If you really want to catch a public contract, meet the process well, prepare an offer that is not nonsense, and meets the requirements. And if you were, look for a consultant who understands this, that sometimes it is worth paying someone who has already hit these papers before. It is not magic, but an egg helps.
