Can an electronic firm be remedied?
Well, there you are more thoroughly, because the theme gives for a while and nobody wants to keep the short version (well, except those that, but no way). The electronic signature roll in public tenders is not just "Put your digital scribble and now." It is a ritual: they ask you to prove that you are you, that no one altered the documents and that the whole process is transparent. Imagine chaos if anyone could reach out. Therefore, the bidding systems put it as a sacred requirement, almost as if it were the entrance to the bureaucratic Olympus.
And what happens if you forget? Although it sounds like a Greek tragedy, the world does not always end there. In many countries, especially in the European Union, they have that idea of "we do not kill guns." That is, if the error is not the big thing - as the electronic signature is missing, but everything else is fine - they can let you correct it. It is the famous correction process, which is basically the redemption for clueless. Of course, only if your mistake does not change the essentials of your proposal, because they will not let people cheat last minute. Come on, you can't send an offer and then, in correction, change the price or put something that gives you unfair advantage. It is not a wild card to fix everything, only for minor details.
Now, here comes the fun: each country interprets the rules in its own way. In Spain, for example, they are a bit strict but allow to correct certain things. In Latin America, it depends a lot on the body and humor of the official on duty, honestly. There are places where the lack of electronic signature is like forgetting your passport: you don't enter or joke. And in some, if you have good reasons (and luck), they give you chance to fix it.
Another thing that usually happens - and that nobody tells you - it is that electronic portals where you sometimes go up. Sometimes the file goes up without the firm, or corrupted along the way. And there begins the posture of mails and calls to see if they can let you correct it. That is why there are companies that have even checklists "Czech the electronic signature before upload", or hire someone just for that. It seems exaggerated, but losing a contract for an oversight gives courage, the truth.
And speaking of tools, not all electronic firms are the same. There are some that neither the neighbor's dog recognizes, and other super sophisticated with Blockchain and the entire roll. Public administrations usually ask for the safest, so don't try to stop with the cheap option, because you can take a scare.
Lesson of all this? Do not trust what the law says. Read the tender specifications well, ask if you have doubts and, above all, do not leave the presentation for the last minute. Because if something fails, at least you have time to react. The margin of error exists, but better not to depend on it. It's like going to an exam knowing that sometimes the teacher accepts studs: you can be lucky, but better do it well from the beginning.
In summary, yes, the lack of electronic signature may have a fix, but it is not a guarantee. And if you play it, let it be because it didn't have another one, not for laziness or carelessness. Get serious with the requirements and use good tools, which in these processes a simple click can be worth millions ... or leave you out of the play.
