Talk to a public procurement expert

In what cases can a material error be justified in the offer?

Rectification

When you get into the world of public tenders, one of those issues that always sweats is the blessed issue of presenting offers and not putting the leg. That is, who is not afraid to make mistakes just when everything is at stake? And well, material errors, those that seem harmless but can be a time bomb, have their laps. You have to know well what we are talking about and when they can be justified, because not everything is worth.

A material error, so that we do not get mess, is that failure that puts noise at a key point of the offer but does not change it by root. They are those oversights that can be seen clear and fix without the proposal becoming something else. It can be from a badly added number (who was not ever mistaken with the calculator?) To a transcription that was crooked. And be careful, it can also be a legal skate, guy understand what the law says.

Now, when can one of these errors be justified without being sent home? Well, there are several situations. For example, if the error is so obvious that anyone sees it, the company can say, Che, it was unintentionally, it was not the idea to present this. If the error can be corrected without changing the essence of the offer, there is no drama, provided you are not taking unfair advantage to others. In these cases, it is common for the entity that organizes the tender asks for a clarification or that you correct the matter, but that, without magic or change the important.

And let's not forget the sacred principles of tenders: transparency, equality and non -discrimination. If the correction of the error does not step on them, you go well. But as you send you one that touches them, there you were.

Of course, each case is a world and it is convenient to look at everything with magnifying glass. If you paint the doubt, better look for a lawyer who knows the subject rather than risk losing the tender for a silly detail.

Anyway, it is best to prevent. Check the offer as if you were detective, I asked for help to people who know, and do not forget to soak up well with the rules of the game. Because, let's be honest, fixing an error is possible, but avoiding it is much less headache.
