What multilateral organisms publish tenders?

Basic Concepts

Well, we go to the grain: multilateral organisms, those gigantic international clubs where a lot of countries come together to try to fix the world (or at least appear that they do), they are a gold mine for companies that know how to move. They make tenders all the time because they need to buy everything: from vaccines to fiber optic cables and, of course, tons of consultancies. Putting into these processes can be transformed into a negotiation, because the contracts are fat and, if you do well, you end up rubbing with people from all over the planet.

The World Bank, for example, is the rockstar of tenders. It has its own portal and there they publish everything: education, health, road construction projects, environmental issues ... What you can think of. The good (and sometimes desperate) is that they have super strict rules so that no one cheats, supposedly everything is transparent and anyone can compete. In theory.

Then there is the IDB, the famous Inter -American Development Bank. This focuses on Latin America and the Caribbean, and its tenders are a buffet for engineering, technology, consulting and even strangest things. It doesn't matter if you are from Mexico or Argentina or any member country, you can launch yourself to compete.

The UN plays in another league, because it buys everything to operate on the middle of the planet. Logistics, security, lawyers, technology, communication ... If you have something to sell, probably in some UN corner they need it. Just prepare for an eternal paperwork.

And of course, the European Union is not far behind. From energy to education, through health and construction, its contracting portal seems to the Amazon of public tenders. If you have patience to navigate it (and you understand that bureaucratic English they use), you will surely find something interesting.

Of course, it is not to arrive and kiss the saint. Putting into a tender of these organisms is like going to the Champions League: you need to know all the rules, prepare proposals that seem doctoral theses and, if you can, get help from someone who has already gone through that. If not, you can drown in the requirements.

Anyway, if you have a company and you are looking to grow up, check out these multilateral tenders. World Bank, IDB, UN, European Union ... There are, waiting for proposals. Only do not underestimate the level of detail and bureaucracy, because yes, it can be a nightmare. But if you grab your rhythm, the prize is worth it.
